Inspired by the expertise of the prestigious Bal des Parisiennes, the Grand Transatlantic Ball is, from its very first edition, the place to be for lovers of France and the United States who want a unique opportunity to celebrate La Fayette and Washington, Offenbach and De Sousa, Josephine Baker, Sidney Bechet and Django Reinhardt, and finally the cinema, where our two countries played a major and pioneering role. In short, all this beautiful shared history that makes our friendship so wonderful to experience!

The Grand Transatlantic Ball has been certified by the Embassy of the United States of America in France: this recognition honours the high-quality work produced by our event to bring the celebration of our ties up to date.

The Grand Transatlantic Ball's Honorary Committee brings together leading figures who embody Franco-American friendship in our time: the composition of the 2026 Honorary Committee will be announced on 25 March 2026, one month before the event.

The Grand Transatlantique Ball is organized by the "Paris-Washington Society", represented by Mrs Laure Bories-Devèze, with the help of the "Society for Grands Balls of Paris & France", chaired by Mr. Charles de Lauzun, to the benefit of the American Hospital of Paris.

The Venue

The Grand Transatlantique Ball will be held in an exceptional venue with a legendary name for French-American friendship: the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée (33 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris), the result of the victory of 1918.

Ball

Two musical groups will alternate every half hour under the Gobelins tapestries and the chandeliers of the sumptuous Salon Foch to offer our guests a continuous concert and an irresistible invitation to dance. Whether you are there for the atmosphere and the music, or to dance, the Grand Transatlantic Ball will be there for you!

Quintet of the Hot Club de France: reformed for the 80th anniversary of this legendary group, which saw Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli invent gypsy jazz, at the crossroads between American jazz and the French style, the Quintet will dazzle and bring its already legendary elegance to this exceptional ball.

La Parisienne String Quintet: created especially for the first edition of the Grand Transatlantic Ball, the La Parisienne String Quintet will play the great French waltzes (Waldteufel, Offenbach, Métra) and the most beautiful English waltzes in the repertoire to create an atmosphere of unparalleled elegance and prestige.

Midnight quadrille

The French quadrille has profoundly inspired American square dances: at midnight, all participants are invited by the master of ceremonies to join the dance floor to learn how to dance, whatever their level, a figure of the so-called «American» French quadrille.

Being prepared

Dance lessons: swing and English waltz

On Friday, April 17th from 8:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., participate in a dance lesson with the schoolLa Maison de la Valse, who is responsible for the artistic direction of the Grand Transatlantic Ball and is preparing theFormation des Grands Bals to the opening ceremony. During this course, meet the other participants at the ball and learn the basics of swing and slow waltz (known as the ‘English’ waltz).
